In September 2009, Gem Machinery Corporation competed with 13 domestic and foreign competitors with the advantage of comprehensive scoring, and finally signed 10 sets of 5,000 meters and 2 sets with one of the largest drilling companies in the Middle East, the UAE National Drilling Company. 7000 meters of rapid transfer of desert drilling rigs and two sets of drill rig drilling equipment design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and service contracts became the first company in Asia to win the bid for the NDC drilling rig procurement contract, creating a new record for high-end heavy equipment exports from manufacturing companies affiliated to CNPC.
To ensure efficient performance, Gem Machinery Company not only established the NDC Drilling Rig Project Management Department in accordance with international practice, but also focused on designing, manufacturing, inspection and debugging of customers in terms of technical content, comprehensive quality, and operational standards. Fine management, to win the user's approval with first-class product quality. In the NDC drilling rig project, for the first time, the gemstone machinery company adopted the mode of operation jointly monitored by the project team, users, and third parties. On October 15, the first domestically-manufactured 5,000-meter fast-moving desert drilling rig that exported to the Middle East market went smoothly. In the process of drilling rig commissioning, Gem Machinery pays attention to enhancing the tacit cooperation with third parties to improve work efficiency. The first set of drilling rig assembly and commissioning takes about 3 months, while the second set of drilling rig only takes 21 days.
At present, the third set of the first 7 sets of 5000m fast-moving desert rigs ordered by NDC has been commissioned and is being disassembled into the final rectification phase.
